Broken
Dimensions: 51cm (w) x 61cm (h)
Mediums: Wood chips, acrylic paint, oil sticks on canvas
Description:
I found solace in the simplicity of this piece. As someone who is deeply tactile, this painting feels incredibly satisfying to me. There is a sense of innocence woven into it—my more fragile side embedded within the layers of medium, forming the painting you see before you.
The contrast between the bright yellow background and the blue flower with its tiny leaves evokes a sense of loneliness, a feeling of standing alone. I often feel like I don’t quite fit in, and the only place I truly feel like myself is when I’m alone, lost in my mind, carving a path toward my paintings.
My hope is for this piece to be displayed in a floating frame, encased in glass—to preserve the beating heart within it.
