How Am I Supposed To Feel
Dimensions: 92cm (w) x 122cm (h)
Medium: Acrylic paint, oil sticks, cardboard, paper on canvas
Description:
I found immense peace within this piece. I painted several iterations before reaching this final form—where my emotions peaked. The smiley faces represent the façade we wear, masking our true feelings. I often find humans to be untruthful with themselves, disconnected from their emotions. My inner child grieves when surrounded by the lack of transparency in people.
The flower symbolizes the hope that resides within us all. No matter how lost we feel, the signs always seem to point back to that hope. The "?" hints at my thoughts on existence—what it truly means to be human. Perhaps everything is both utterly meaningless and profoundly important at the same time, and we, as humans, exist in the balance between the two.
