These photos were taken by Tarik’s dear friend, Claye Harnett, in his apartment early in his career. Claye captures a glimpse into Tarik’s mind, documenting him bouncing around his one-bedroom space—crowded with paintings and drenched in paint.

"Tarik was sleeping with paintings and dining with paintings," Claye recalls, highlighting the deep connection between the artist and his work. His relationship with his art is intensely personal and immersive. His paintings will infect you—just as his raw, authentic presence does.
